If altitude affects a cars performance, how high can you get? can we modify Jer's Chevy Camaro SS to reach outer space? in this episode of Bumper 2 Bumper we are going to throw Ford, Tesla, and Moon Buggy parts at Jeramiah's beloved catfish to try and get it up our theoretical road to space. It turns out that running out of oxygen isn't the only thing we have to worry about...

Donut Media is at the center of digital media for the next generation of automotive and motorsports enthusiasts. We are drivers, drifters, and car enthusiasts who love to tell stories.
If I had a penny for every time he said 'okshygen'...
Forced induction system like supercharger can help squeeze more oxygen into the engine to compensate with the altitude.. 😉
Why this guy has some similarities with "John B" of "outer Banks" ?
And you need fully synthetic engine oil for service interval for smoother ride 😂
I saw the first up to speed vid
car looks like its from an old flash game
Day 1 for more b2b to do physical car b2b episodes.
I would defiently buy that Camaro, it looks like it could do some cool offroading back down on earth
My cummins gels at 40° or below
I just realized i could watch this in 4k....jeramiah never looked so good
I like the smoke stack car illustration!!!
Ok if we start driving to/in space if that road is orange, we all better make sure super powerful AIs design to drive cars don't come after us in giant vehicles Yes, hot wheels acceleracers joke in 2020. Who knew.
That thumbnail looked like those top 10 videos that click bait.
What is the music that starts at 11:28 and goes until 12:42? I like how as you get closer to space, the music changes to more ominous.
Why does he always say catfish?
Great video. Could you make a reference of the units in meters so its easier for some of us? 😬😅
Okay, I’m doing 10 dollar o maze, for the wrx Sti gymkhana inspired car. I get that I most likely won’t win, but it’s fun to dream.
ochshigen
Why don’t you use an electric car
Me
A Honda Civic with a wing 10 feet tall rear wing and a custom exhaust will probably make it to Neptune If you believe
How you gonna get down? Gonna need some fat brake discs for that velocity Please make video on how the Tamaro would go down the road?
What if the road was actually a pressurized and heated tunnel?
Probably shouldn't call aerogel "powerful" as it's very fragile but it's understandable as it has som powerful properties
Some Celsius degrees would have been appreciated
I realize this video is a week old so I'm guessing Donut isnt looking at comments anymore, but I do have a question: With regards to your Tesla Camaro you guys said that internal resistance increases as temperature decreases. I was under the impression that resistance actually decreases as temperature drops. Which is why the temperature of absolute zero is the point at which there is no electrical resistance in any given circuit. Wouldn't resistance get closer and closer to that point as temperature drops? Honestly I should say, I am a welder and I've been working on cars since I was about 8 years old. I am in no way a physics buff/engineer like Jeremiah here, so I'm not trying to come off as some guy that gets off on correcting people. On the contrary, I am genuinely curious that I've been thinking incorrectly all these years now. Anyway, if anyone from Donut still checks comments on week old videos feel free to let me know, I assume you guys know more about this than I do.
Furious space kids mannnnnnnnn
the answer, no
Au falcons can do that stock
But why is the electric engine making *vroom vroom* noices?
There are a few things wrong fact-wise with this video. The most torque in a production vehicle isn’t the Ford F-350 with 1,050 ft/lb, it’s the Dodge 3500 with the Cummins HO, making 1,075 ft/lb. Also, diesel likely isn’t going to gel if an engine is running. Change a fuel filter after a motor has been running; the diesel is pretty hot, but not scalding. Also, there is such thing as anti-gel additive and winter diesel fuel.
New money pit? Space catfish
What good is it going to space if it's just gonna fall back down without a decent speed?
Yall I just love you and all we've learned through the past few years and I think that you are something special to enjoy with family and friends. Great show and yall need some type of award
Sounds like a job for that new hummer
anyone check out the spoilerz vid before this?
Give it up guys for "The Chord"!
you should make this car tbh
magnetic road, and car. add spacesuits and done lol
Earth is flat - drive off the edge, you're in space... Voila
I'll show this to my child... When I get one
I held off on watching this because I thought the premise was kinda dumb... But the discussion and real info were very interesting. I still hate the catfish, but I love how much you love it. :)
2:51 imagine trying to reverse down that 💀💀
For max Torque from the factory wouldn't you want a 6.7L Cummins considering from the factory there's an option for one with 1,075.
Tesla
hey Vsauce Jeremiah here
*6:55* "I should call her"
When does this build start?
Can you imagine how much it would cost to build the Jerry Turnpike? I suppose you could say the tolls would be... astronomical?
How will you both comeback
Can you drive to space? a question that has never been asked by anyone in human history.
Except for him
Looks like an overland camaro 🤔🤔
never coming back to earth
So when's this goin down?
Super glue on the tires!
Is it weird when I'm havin a crap day...I pop on some Donut ta cheer myself up? 😐 ...cause I totally do.. 😎
Not a powerjoke
I feel like spoilerz already did this
But one question still stands...how did they build the road to space??
Such great silly!
bro you copied Spoilerz....
you can get aircraft of rocket fuel, it's the same thing as diesel but with antifreeze in it
No no you could not
I know you guys are americans and if you want to use imperial units its ok but put the metric value in the screen to know
As Graham Hancock would say, the answer is: you'd need a pretty fucking long ramp
Can we also have both units of measurements 🤷♂️😂
Roads??! Where we’re going we don’t need roads Marty!
Can yall use metric units aswell, I mean not everyone is familiar with feet, inches and shit
Before I watch this I already know it can’t go to space unless you somehow strap 2 very large tanks for fuel and oxygen. Plus a way to drive to space.
I didn't watch the video and I know the answer. No because engines require oxygenated air to create internal combustion. Also because i this watched this obscure television show I'm sure NONE of you have heard of where these 3 old British dudes try and fail to drive over a volcano in the Andes in ancient 4wd vehicles.
Would the thermosphere not roast you alive? Super interesting video, BTW.
Isn’t this an idea that the ITworlds channel Spoilerz had two months ago and posted a video on. With almost the exact same information as well, kind of a dick move there
pls credit the guy who you stole the video from
Block heaters don’t heat the tank .... diesel 911 anti gel get it at any chain automotive part store
My Bronco has theoretically driven to the moon. 239k miles. But it took 25 years and a dozen or so overdue oil changes to get there...
What about electrical vehicles? Say you can hve in the vehicle a tanks of oxygen that are used for a very small engine to keep battery power alive for continuous tq plus some type of heater for the battery? I guess I didn’t finish the whole video to comment correctly lol
What would be better if one did a thought exercise in how to perform atmospheric reentry in a wheeled vehicle like the movie heavy metal
I just realized you never did the 911 Never covered the most iconic porsche of all time on bumper to bumper. That's crazy
Impossible to watch, use metric and imperial
You guys are really reaching
I love Jeremiah but I miss when James did B2B and it was about a single car
Totally loving the multi-dimensional ingenuity. Recognizing that in the real world, when you tweak one element, there's a domino effect that requires you to reevaluate every other element of the design. Well done.
Vsauce... donut media here
The new hummer could do it. 11,000 ft lbs and electric.
I get it’s fast, but SUVs killed the car scene so why promote it
Yeah sure if you can build a fucking road to space
Ockshagen
"The Chord" and "The Tamaro"... so horrible... yet so lovable...
Less powa babeh!
No you'd run out of oxygen. No I didn't watch the video past the 0:01 mark.
Why not use an electric car?
Just use a tesla that no one likes
Bruhhh just use a Tesla DUHHHH
Physics has left the chat.
You still think we made it to the moon... haha
You guys are really trying to get rich 🤑 from freaking adds goddamn
Jeremiah you crazy to come up with this. However, your Tamaro wouldn't make it that far on batteries because the more weight you have, the more energy you need and adding more batteries adds to the weight which again needs more energy" its a never ending loop so prepare to drive with a power cable qll the way from earch
When will you guys finally bring back Science Garage ?
Man is the word for the entire human race. No need to say woman. Let the butt hurts get butt hurt.
*chuckles in Pike's Peak*
